So tomorrow school shall resume and yeah, things are going to start rolling again. I've no idea what's in store for me this sem. Hopefully, I can still cope with my work because I've more modules to cover this time.


And if you're reading this please pray for me that I won't have much difficulty in Japanese. Yeah, you saw that right. Japanese.


And the lecture will be held in Business School. How lucky can I get?



Anyway, was reading on the world wide web regarding some services on Islamic banking. I thought the HSBC Amanah has one branch in Singapore but apparently, they don't. Maybe I'm just mistaken or maybe it's not established yet. Whatever it is, I was reading and more than half the time I have to re-read. That's because I couldn't understand nuts what they are writing! But I do hae a rough idea of what they are trying to say so in the end, I got kinda got it la...so-so.


The most distinctive element of Islamic banking is the prohibition of interest, whether ''nominal'' or ''excessive,'' simple or compound, fixed or floating. Other elements include the emphasis on equitable contracts, the linking of finance to productivity, the desirability of profit sharing, and the prohibition of gambling and certain types of uncertainty. These parameters define the nature and scope of Islamic banking, as interpreted by the Shariah scholars that work with Islamic financial institutions.


That's what I read at the HSBC Amanah webbie. It's the main concept of Islamic banking and the highlighted parts are what that brought me to attention. I feel that the specialty in Islamic banking lies in that. Just that.


So much for monetary stuff. I don't really have much to blog. Tomorrow will be last day for fasting. I don't know why but I don't feel the Hari Raya atmosphere coming. Well, that's just too bad. Maybe I'll blog again tomorrow night.
