Hmm...tt set me thinking..

Just finished watching "Tangkai Jering" or "Miser". It was funny and pretty interesting.

It was about this miser (duh..) who just graduated from university and is really eager in becoming a director. So he decided to join a filem production company as a production assistant. His extreme thrifty attitude is very well known among his friends. That's when things start to get really humurous. Imagine switching off the lights at night and use a torchlight instead just to save money. LOL...and then after that there's this 'new actress' whom he fall for. And in the end they really got together after the miser got into a "accident". Notice the open and close inverted commas? Hahaha... :-)

Read someone's blog. Somehow I got something to say about it. I'm not trying to defame you or what but just stating my opinions and sharing my thoughts. Peace!

Why bother about how well others do? You may not realize this but you have to bring yourself to seeing this. Even if they get 10 for their GPA, why bother ( Ya I know 10 is impossible, just exaggerating) ? I don't see any point in comparing yourself with others who has better grades. Like what your father said, "Different people have different learning capabilities". Its just good enough that you focus on yourself. There isn't a need to 'look out for others' you know. Eh, do sentry very tiring and boring right? Sharing what I'd picked up from Mr Steven Quek's teachings, the As will always be there for you to grab. No matter how many people get an A, there's always one for you. So don't worry, about others. Unless they ask for your help la, it doesn't hurt if they get an A also right? Can celebrate together. The more the merrier.

And man, I hope you won't resort to mugging man. Really, its no use getting so up tight and start to mug all the way. I prefer using a cup. Finish, just top up. Get what I mean? Nvm... anyway, what I think you should do is try to understand what you are learning. Your mind will have more peace that way. Of course some things you just have to memorize. Not all. I'm sure you know that. :)

In my opinion, cutting down on your other activities may not be necessary. I mean, if you plan your time well, you should be able to do all the things that you want to do. Planning. You want to win a war, planning comes first. I have this believe that nothing will work unless you start woth the 'P' word. Planning. Honestly, I'm good at planning. BUT, my execution part sucks. I like to procastinate. Anyway, in other words, PLANNING+EXECUTION=TIME MANAGEMENT. My time management is only half good but I'm working on it. For example, my plan was to study (read notes etc.) when I'm on the train to school. There and back. So, that saves me some time. But of course, I only managed to do that like 1/4 of the time only during last semester. Why? Lazy lor...haiz..still need some jelly knocking.

And like Kenny told you, be consistent. I think your school works the same way as mine. Or rather, similar, to say the most. If it does than you should maintain high marks for all the small tests, even if they take up little %. Because it helps. If you do that then you need not worry so much for your main exams.

Also, I think you should analyse your learning techniques i.e learning pace and learning method. For me, I'm quite a slow learner and given this queer brain, I need more time to register and absorb stuff. So I either have to start early, or just re-read until I really get it. For the former, that's when independent learning steps in. Why do you think I borrowed a book on programming? :)

You have to stop 'relying' help from others too much. Sometimes, you just got to do it on your own. Seek help when needed, not from beginning till the end. How they understand something is different from how you and I understand it. We are humans. But we think different.

What I want to re-emphasize is, the battle is between
YOU and EXAMS. Not you and tom, dick, harry and who ever you think is a genius. So relax yourself. There's still time. :)
