Just had to say it here somehow....

I SUPPORT RONALDO!!!

Man, he's STILL good okay... initially when the criticisms on him rose, I quite didn't like it. I mean, as a person, you're bound to have your own ups and downs. I still have faith in him even though he's kinda getting old, in football sense. And ya, the 5 minute goal was splendid. Didn't watch live so I caught him in action during the news. The goal was nice...he did a splendid stepover, tricked the keeper and shot in a goal....that was just awesome. Though he's kinda fat now...I think he's standard of play is still there and yeah, criticists should just shut the fark up.

He's among the best. And same goes to the other veterans like Zidane, Raul, Carlos and so on... and he has a gap in between his teeth at the front....just like mine...? Lolx...

I miss the Galacticos...

hmm...how I wish I could have....

My first HQ camp. Friday, June 23, 2006 |

Alrites...back from camp...though bloody short, I certainly enjoyed myself...the limited sleep nites, the fun of teaching others, encouraging them and so on.... :)

West District Specialist Course Phase 2
Kilo 3
Assistant Platoon Commander

Yup...a bit of summary on my role there. My platoon was the biggest with a strength of 55 man-girl-power. 6 girls and the rest are boys... a good bunch of people...MOST didn't give much of a problem...and ya...those who got 3rd Sergeants...do not be depressed what-so-ever....its just a piece of green cloth...my underwear is more valuable.... :P

Anyway...book in on Tuesday night. Had a briefing...everything seems alrite but you know...you just have to prepare yourself mentally for it...the cock ups....the problems...the shits...and then got to know that I'm attached to Francis...a SCLT...and CLT Hairi...we made a pretty good team with the 2 of them needing to book out at some times...I think our platoon didn't realy contribute that much of a problem... :)

After the briefing that night, we were hungry so we called Mc to deliver food. Ate at the staircase area there...had fun eating with the 51st Clts...cracking stupid jokes and stuff...hahaz...after which we went back to doing our own wirk because we were all attatch to different departments of the camp....CM went to Admin, WL to Log...me to Kilo 3 APC and so on....I got my manual from francis and started reading on it...by then i think it was like 1 in the morning....pretty scared reading alone inside my bunk whil the rest are sleeping because the bunk that we CLTs had to sleep in was kinda 'dirty'...got kay pohs there lar...very sian....then at around 3 then I managed to complete everything and went to sleep. Woke up at around 6....went to have a cold shower... and changed to full uniform... went down for breakfast and surprisingly to me....some of them arrived earlier than expected...saw some of the Kilo 3 for the first time...admin stuff were carried on and yeah...by around close to 9....everyone were ready to carry on with the tests and stuff...it was really a headache.....because, most of them were not taught well...so had to revise and all...pretty time consuming....and ya...IFC test first...I had difficulty in giving the marks because I have to give marks that must consider the aspect of quality and humanity...if I was strict...I think 90+ % of them would have failed..meaning they may most probably wont pass out with a new rank...zero promotion...so ya...the ones that I think can at least teach the cadets, I give them the marks....the others...I try to pass them....and yup...at the end when the scrores were tabulated...none failed....heng ah...

The only reason why they should fail is that if they have a damn fucked up attitude. Then they desrved such treatment....even though they weren't fully ready to teach theire juniors...I have to give it to them because they have served NCC for 3 years....and I don't want them to think that they came for this course for nothing....so for my platoon, all were promoted to at least a sergeant rank...to those who got 2nd...congrats for the 14 of you.... :)

Then had dinner and stuff...had to debrief them and send them off to their bunks...so after everything was settled...they all made it to bed....I was pretty f-ed up that night because there was something that went wrong with the bunk allocations...and while I was walking around trying to settle stuff...I noticed a couple of girls outside this particular bunk for boys...they can't get in to retrieve their things ( when they came everyone was not allocated to their boys and girls bunk yet ) so I was wondering why...and of course the reason is someguy was inside half naked...

So I stepped in.....

Nobody said 'room' as if I'm invisible like that...

And that blew my top straight away. It was like the first time I shouted and scolded people at HQ. And ya, after that things went on fine there...after a while, I couldn't actually believe that was me because I don't usually shout and scold at cadets...I just tell them what is wrong and comand them to do the right things...ya...that was like something new....

and then that night, had another briefing...discussed on serious matters and mistakes committed..and again I can't believe I actually speaked out and so called arrow people but that wasn't my intention seriously because...I mean it is just practical that I share it with others so that the mistake will have lesser chances of repeating. And ya...I think with my CLT rank, I've changed to some sort of a better person...as in...a BIT more outspoken.... :)

And yupz... I realized this is the time where I can learn most. Though the heat was on, with an open and rational mind, we learnt from our mistakes and also that of others. and then after all those things, we went back to work. We had to prepare the certs and stuff...pretty hard work I must say...and then I became so sleepy that I just conked out without knowing. Then I woke up at around 5 plus and I realized I was all alone. As in the only one awake. I went up to my bunk and on the way up some cadets were already washing up getting ready. When I went in, everyone was still sleeping because they had worked their ass out the other night/day. I layed on my bed for a while and decided to take a short nap and at around 6, I woke up again to meet the cadets at the company line. Had breakfast and stuff. I was kinda surprised that they actaully wrote testimonials for us. I mean, we did ask them to do but then I didn't expect them to produce it because there wasn't really time for them to. But yeah..that's my platoon...pretty cool... :)

My testimonialss arent' that interesting....not much of negative comments...common words would be like caring, strict, take care of welfare bla bla bla....but the person who got flamed most was my PC francis...hahaz...they said that he is very vulgar and unreasonable and so on....hes not THAT bad lar....just that its normal to use a bit of vulgar now and then...and you know whats their definition of vulgar? A slightly harsh word like "bloody clown" is also considered vulgar...I am like wtf!!!??? LOLX.......kids nowadays....hahaz...

And then went off to MPH ot take photo taking. All in all, it was done pretty fast and smoothly. Nothing interesting. And then we the cadets did some rehearsals for their Passing Out Ceremony. Just a simple one. and then had lunch and then they jsut had talks by SAF officers. While they were there the instructors went back to Learning Terrace and sort out the ranks that were to be given. There was a lot of work especially the administration. Plus the extra stress and burden put on us by the Teacher Officers...and there were some controversies over the ranks and stuff...what I'm certain is that we give what we think they deserve. I had done fair assessments on my platoon and ya..its the best I can give. In just 2 days, its difficult to make a better and more accurate assessment. It is just too short. So in the end, everyone had their ranks and I think for my platoon, most are okay with it. We explained to them that ranks are not of much importance and so on....I mean its true lar...at the end of the day, its the given respect by the cadets that matters much.

Then they had their light refereshments after which they went back to their bunks to take their bags and go home. oh ya, saw some of my 51st platoonmates....was happy to see them too... :D
51st LEAD THE WAY, ALL THE WAY!!!

"The world is unfair.Look at your fingers, arent they all not the same?"

CSS NCC June Camp 06 Wednesday, June 14, 2006 |

Damn it. Why do I have to miss that god damn place? CSS is moving for good!!! WHY!!?? Haiz...sian...sadz..sobz... :(

Just got the confirmation that CSS is going to shift to a new place at Teban Gardens in the next one year or so. The last time I remembered regarding this issue was that CSS was just moving out temporarily to allow the building to be renovated. But it looks like now, its going to be torn down and a new school is to be built. It is pretty confirmed that CCS's new site would be at the place where RVHS used to be, the place opposite Pandan Reservoir.

Feeling kinda sad that this had to happen. CSS is really unique, a one-of-the-kind school structure. I mean, where else in Singapore can you find a school built on some sort of a hill? Even if there is, its not common. I am really going to miss that damn place. That place where I had my fair share of endless fun and excruciating pain. Haiz...this is really disheartening. Ex-manwealthians, I suggest that you guys try to take your last walk there before its too late. Lols...

I suddenly feel so attached to CSS considering that I had a couple of really bad moments there.
That's kinda weird.

Just came back from CSS NCC June Camp. A 3-day 2-night stay. Booked in on Monday morning. After that, the cadets were taught on how to construct a bashah. Not really successful due to the lack of equipment. Anyway, they had field cooking for lunch out at the field. The weather was really hot I must say. After that, the cadets were to revise their Trainfire and IFC lessons. And then followed by dinner. Wah lao....the food ah...damn sian...I think worse than the one catered from SFI or Lion Kitchen. The quantity was okay but the quality? Wa....but then it didn't really matter to me because it's expected of a NCC camp. It's meant NOT to be comfortable. After that they had their wash up and then AAR. They disliked the field cooking. That was expected as well because of the intense heat. Then they had their supper after which most of them were sent to sleep. Some of the Part Bs and Part Cs were gathered that night to sort out sentry duties.

The sky was clear.

The moon was full.

Not really a good sign.

True enough, that extra kay poh kiah appeared but it wasn't me who saw or experience it. It was one of those people from sentry duties...the 3 specs. from Part C...Guna, Shazni and Shafiq. They were patrolling somwhere at the middle block and saw 'it' at the home econs block. They saw 'it' following them and they just ignored it. They told me there were scared of course and at that time it was like about 0245 to 0300hrs...I was awaken for a while at the canteen due to the cold I guess and went back to sleep. Anyway, the good thing is that it didn't created chaos and everyone was kinda safe. Well, so far, I had not seen any of them yet, be it in school or outside. But somwhow I coul feel it. Especially during the briefing before they were dispatch. Anyway, that was some encounter for them....I think it is that banana tree up there and also I've heard of past incidents happening at the home econs block. So ya...that place is some sort dirty.

Then morning came. Everyone assembled at the PS to carry out a simple flag raising ceremony. After that PT began....it was pretty good. A job well done pushing the cadets to their limits. I did with them as much as possible, assisting them at other times. The fitness of the juniors are deteriorating and what I heard was the 1 PT session per week was implemented. So I hope that would help. Then they had breakfast...it was plain bee hoon. Then, Zhe Liang told me that we CLTs had to conduct MOC. We had to come up with something fast and managed to create our own set of obstacle course. Taking into consideration that we had limited resources, we managed to pull off a good one, striking the balance between using litte resources and providing a tough challenge for the cadets. And of course, the hot weather didn't help much. :) Then, in the midle of the MOC, we noticed a police van and truck at the abandoned primary school with dogs as well. And then I noticed a female police officer wallking towards us. I thought wshe wanted to talk to us or something but then she just wanted to use the toilet... suspense only...hahaz..but there was one thing, she was from SOC. After that, we had lunch before proceeding with drills and tests on IFC and Trainfire lessons. Then, dinner was served. After dinner, the Part A went up to AVA room to watch Army Daze. The rest were to train on their drills. I was there with them and most of the Part B is capable of executing drills with the expected standard. It was pretty commendable. At around 11 all of them were already in bed after taking their supper. That night was hell for them. There was a turnout and Night PT and Activity was being commenced. Operation Rain as said by Clement was also successful. The Part Cs were able to communicate well and get the cadets to shelter when the rain came. And then at around close to 5, the interview for OCBC took place. It went pretty well and we managed to select the award winners. After that, all was peacefully sleeping. I went around to do a bit of patrolling ALONE.It was still dark and I admit that I was kinda scared la...hahaz..but nothing happened. I could stay awake becuz before that I already had my sleep when the night stuff went on. It was pretty peaceful too... :)

Oh ya...the extra sentry appeared again on the second night but that was early at around 7-8pm...this time it was Guna and Ragu...they were sitting at the wall at the fitness corner when they heard laughter. Guna saw it at the primary school somwhere at the tree...then they got off the wall and quickly madetheir way back to the canteen. It think they like Guna la....hahaz...

Last day of the camp. They had some morning exercise for a while before being sent for breakfast. And then they had another round of MOC. This time with timing and competition. The cadets did unexpectedly faster than the day before....it just proves that they CAN do it if they want to. It was good for them I guess and I hope they had enjyed it instead of taking it as a torture. It was meant to allow the Part Bs to hone their leadership skills and the Part As to challenge themselves physically. I can say it was hell for most of them. By the end of the camp....everyone was half dead.

Going to have another camp next week I think. At HQ NCC.

I am going to miss the school on the hill...haiz...lolx...

AKE 06' and the days after... Wednesday, June 07, 2006 |

ANNUAL KAYAKING EXPEDITION : An eye-opener. Exciting and fun. :)

So I was involved in the AKE last weekend. I did'nt went down to kayak though because i volunteered for land party. I'm not certified to kayak anyway but I did "illegally" kayak during one of the prep trainings. The rule was no 1-star, no go. Finally after don't know how many chances I got to have the feel of kayaking. Its kinda tiring and I'm darn sure that if I kayak for a month or so consistently, my muscles would be like damn freaking solid...hahaz...anyway, my job was to basically take care of the kayaks...the job was kinda easy because Jason, the logistics IC helped a lot and most of the damaged kayaks were already seperated during the mini ex conducted a week before the actual AKE.

Me, CM and WL book in at SSTC at close to 10pm on Friday. The rest we already there since afternoon if I'm not wrong. We were not required to be active anyway on that night because our real tasks takes place only on the next morning. We land cadets were there just to assist. The Sea people were the main group running the expedition. We were really slacking that night. Came in and eat supper with them and then lights out. Managed to squeeze some time to study Engineering Maths. Ended up didn't do much because I was chating away with the rest about ghost stories. So exciting sia...plus the extra ration and stuff...hahaz...

So next morning at around close to 7 am, the cadets launch off. Since I was the kayak IC, I watch them set off and briefed them on what to do in case their kayaks are leaking. As much as I expected, none came back...all launched off successfully. :) GOOD JOB SYAMIL!!! must give myself face once in a while mah...if its not me who tap my back, who will? haha... :P Anyway, then the Land Party had to pack up stuff to be loaded up onto the tonner and brought to Changi. After that rot there for a while. Come, I show you evidence. In air-con room somemore. Haha...

ok...then pack up stuff and load em up the tonner and headed to Changi Beach. Greeted by some wong fey hong song played by the ice cream man..lol...then a kayak was reported damaged. KNN..lolx..then have to change with a spare one. Wah...one double kayak heavy ok...wah piang..so sian...haha..rot there for hours until we were finally given instruction to go to CSTC. Damn. That place is so beautiful lor...so new...but located at some bloody ulu place...the road there was 2-way...pretty narrow..and it was like I was in malaysia like tt....because of the tree and stuff...reminded us about the world war 2....how mass killing was done there...eww...eerie....lolx..some pictures at CSTC...

The view from the then admin room. The room got balcony outlooking the sea...like chalet sia...very nice turqoish colour sea...very different from the normal East Coast water.....then..oh yar...one more pic..of me and the land people..

then...at around 4 the cadets reach the ramp area...we were down there to receive them because it was a really exhausting trip for them....plus the scorching sun...direct them to the holding area...helped them bring up their kayaks....yeah..it was quite an achievement...haha... :) then they washed up had early dinner and settle some admin stuff...after which they were debriefed before being sent to bed...the sea clts were having meeting so me and the other land clts took charge...ahem ahem..hehex... :P anwyay, the lightings at the girl's toilet that night had some problem so me CM and WL were given the responsibility to bring the girls to the toilet at the yatch club next door...bo pian la...cuz the others were having meeting...so ya...the toilet there was pretty high class la...i mean when i entered the guys toilet...i didn't step into the girls toilet hor...dont get me wrong...got cotton by somemoer sia...very high standard of cleaniness...haha

then sent them back to go to sleep. finally everyting ended at around 10 plus for the day. we were hungry so decided to order food from Mc...pretty worried because the delivery man have to come to us which is scary la...anyway, we talked to him for a while...he said it was okay because he rode pretty fast...so he kinda heck care...lolx...nice bike btw...

the next day, me, CM, WL and Samuel went back to SSTC while the rest of the people head for Kallang, stopping over at Amber beacon on the way. Me CM and Wl took the assault boat while Samuel and Lt. Ian board the boston whaler...wtf man...the boston whaler was farking slow sia...engine is only 30 horsepower..wah lao pathetic....20 years old some more...wah pain sia...anyway, we saw some bikini babes doing wakeboarding....we were so alive when we say them >.<>

WASH 54 DOUBLE KAYAKS!!!! wah lao....plus the paddles and life jacks..xiong ah....but fun :)
the land party gave the best we have....so by 4 plus everything was settled. The CLTS there were high sia....played with water and stuff....had a good shower and then had to head down to Amoy Quee HQ for some meeting. Got posted back to CSS. Pretty cool...a lot of activities coming up..will be back at CSS next week on Monday....for NCC Camp...can't wait... :)

Went to HQ again yesterday with CM to make pass. It's like so finally sia...no need to sign in sign out already....yay....

then CM was like complaining to me about Malay guys jio-ing chinese gals...haha because that time he saw on chio chinese girl on;y to find out she got malay boyfriend....haha....too bad la CM....the world has changed and is changing....lolx...just accept it lor....lolx...

But frankly speaking rite, I dun care much abotu races...all juman also rite? if chio then chio lar...fark care whether chinese malay indian burmese vietnamese indonesia ang moh bla bla bla.....thio bo? I also dunno why but I find myself more attracted to chinese gals as compared to malay girls...pretty weird...maybe its the environment I grew up in...anyway, I dun really prefer either one...as in either one is okay wif me...if im attracted tt means im attracted lor....its not like there are no chio malay girls...come I show you evidence..wahhaha
